Thank you to all who submitted their innovative ideas for the 2021 Pitching Competition. We can’t wait to announce the finalists details on 24 August.

The Young Rail Professionals Pitching Competition is a highlight of AusRAIL, unearthing new ideas that could help shape our industry for the better.

Rail professionals are invited to submit an idea that could enhance or revolutionise the rail industry.

With close to $60bn in committed investment scheduled for the Australian rail industry over the next few years, now is the time to identify, promote and advance the ideas of our highly skilled, passionate, and inspiring new generation of leaders.

The inaugural competition was held at AusRAIL 2016 and has become a favourite amongst the rail community.

Given the innovation and creativity of our young rail professionals, we have introduced exciting new features to this year’s competition:

  • Entries are now open to all railway professionals who are 35 years or under
  • Submissions will also include a 60sec elevator pitch video

Finalists will have the opportunity to present their detailed ideas to industry leaders at AusRAIL. Together with our industry judges, the audience will vote on the winner who will be announced at the Gala Dinner.

The 2020 competition was held virtually, and after two semi-finals, saw Timothy Lang of TfNSW win at AusRAIL Live + On Demand with his idea: “Flattening the other curve: Using gamification to redistribute passenger demand.”

Entries are now closed
