AusRAIL is the
only rail event organised by the
5 main railway associations in Australasia
and, is therefore supported
by the entire rail sector. The
associations comprising the AusRAIL
Steering Committee are:
The sudden increase in demand for better infrastructure and new rolling stock are all good news for the rail industry. However, this surge in activity is occurring when Australia is experiencing a very tight labour market.
It is therefore very appropriate that this year’s AusRAIL key topics are Capacity, Climate and Culture.
How can we as an industry respond to the demand for increased capacity?
How can rail best meet the opportunities offered as a result of the Climate Change agenda?
How can we change the Rail culture to be a relevant exciting contemporary employer of choice?
AusRAIL 2008 will once more provide the forum for our industry’s professionals and decision makers to gather, hear and discuss our three key challenges for the future.
Day one of the conference will include a ministerial keynote address from The Hon. Lynne Kosky MP, Minister for Public Transport and The Arts, Victoria.
International addresses include: Fred Green, President and CEO of Canadian Pacific Railway
Len Porter, Chief Executive, Rail Safety & Standards Board, UK
The afternoon of day one offers four technical streams from the RTSA, RTAA, IRSE and ARIC.
Day two includes presentations on rail’s seven strategic objectives in the morning and the CEO’s forum in the afternoon.
